Robert “Bob” Whitlock
J.O. Gymnastics Head Coach
Father of 2 beautiful girls/ future gymnast/ cheerleaders. I began in the sport through preschool at Flippers in Garland, grew up in every sport including, Karate, Baseball, Football, and Basketball through various leagues and organizations. I trained at several area gyms while attending Rockwall High School as a Gymnast and Graduate. After high school, and into my first years of college, I was in a car accident that left me unable to tumble or compete. My focus instantly shifted from athlete to coach. I have had some of the greatest mentors in the sport. I respect all of them. Through my beginning coaching years, I learned from area gyms, several coaching styles, and the rate at which work got done. I came into Rogue Athletics with the understanding that there were more ways to create
success than to break spirits and punish athletes. I believe that the changes in any sport begin with the club or owners. My culture is that of positive reinforcement. Conditioning is viewed as a means to get stronger, not as a punishment. I have had great success with this, having athletes qualify for State, Regionally, and Nationally in Gymnastics and Cheerleading. I teach my athletes and coaches that its ok to have bad days, but the most important concern is the safety, security, and success of any athlete that comes to our facility.
